Tips for Camping in the Adirondacks

Avoid Unwanted Animal Visits

While camping in the Adirondacks, you may encounter a visit from a wild animal. Although most wild animals are afraid of people, some of them may still approach our campsites. Do NOT feed them. This not only hampers the animals natural instincts but it encourages them to make repeat visits. They may even decide to help themselves. ALWAYS store your food away in a car or hang it in a tree. NEVER leave food in your tent. These animals can and will do a lot of damage.

Additional Uses for a Frisbee

A frisbee will add support to paper plates when the plate is placed inside the frisbee.

Additional Uses for a Garbage Bag

We hope you don't have to use this tip while you are camping in the Adirondacks! ... Making a slit in a trash bag large enough to let your head through will make an emergency poncho!

Don't get bit!

Remember that mosquitoes and biting flies seem to like dark colored clothing and the perfumed scents of many grooming products (soaps, shampoos, colognes, etc.)

Cleaning Tips for Coolers

Clean both the inside and outside with a solution of mild soap and warm water.

If the product has a faucet, be sure to rinse with hot water and drain completely.

To remove tough stains, use baking soda and water.

Always air dry with lid open before storing.
